From rooftop dining to patriotic activities, the city is alive with fun things to do this holiday weekend.
Several events will be held throughout the city on Monday to honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
One of the best things about summer in New York is the wide range of free outdoor activities. Prospect Park Bandshell is host to Celebrate Brooklyn!, a concert series that includes plenty of free shows by well-known musical acts. This year a variety of musicians from different genres—like bluegrass band Trampled by Turtles, ballet company Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal and hip-hop artist Shaggy —are all scheduled to perform.
Love great food, drinks and music? Then head to Brooklyn this weekend for Great GoogaMooga. This three-day festival, held May 17-19 in Prospect Park, will welcome 85 of the city’s top restaurants, selling delicious bites in hand-painted booths—reminiscent of old New York storefronts.
