Midtown East

On Wednesday, I went to an event at Zucker’s Bagels and Smoked Fish near Grand Central Terminal in Midtown East. This recently opened, cozy spot offers authentic hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels made on-site and much more—including a wide assortment of pastries, coffee from popular roasting company La Colombe, authentic seltzers, daily shipments of smoked fish, and deli sandwiches—all from New York vendors.

A few weeks ago, I went to Hofbräu Bierhaus in Midtown East. This German beer hall is the perfect place to go with a large group of friends—the space boasts several long wooden tables—for authentic German beer.

New York City steak houses are legendary, and one of my favorites is Benjamin Steakhouse in Midtown East. I had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant for a work event last year, and the establishment exudes “Old New York” as soon as you enter.

This past Thursday, I went to an event at Méli—a recently open Greek restaurant in Midtown East. The beautifully designed, two-floor establishment has an intimate bar near the front and an ample-sized dining room in the back—complete with breathtaking scenic photos of Greece; romantic curtains; large, framed mirrors; and gorgeous chandeliers.

A few coworkers recently enjoyed lunch at Darbar Grill, an Indian restaurant in Midtown. When they got back to the office, they couldn’t stop raving about the place. Of course, now I want to try it! I was told the lavish lunch buffet is delicious and to definitely try the chicken tikka masala.
