Chez Josephine

It was a shock to realize that I had not been to Chez Josephine in some 20 years.

Celebrate France's Independence Day at several French-focused establishments all over town.

From a candlelit dinner to a spin around the dance floor, there is no set way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year.

Visiting New York City can feel like home at this time of the year in one of these cozy, classic and creative restaurants—many of which will serve special seasonal delights on November 27, as well as a few international twists on traditional favorites.

Salivation-inducing fare, amazing ambiance and a hospitable staff make for a fantastic dining experience. I was able to enjoy all three at Chez Josephine.

Two times a year, New York City is blessed with a spectacular event: NYC Restaurant Week! Through March 7, enjoy bargain-priced meals at the city’s great eateries.

Chez Josephine, easily one of the sexiest and most romantic eateries in town, is offering a seductively delicious New Year’s Eve menu for those in the mood for love (with another, or with food, or with both!). For $200 per person, your ring-in-2014 feast will include Petrossian smoked salmon, terrine de fois gras de canard with black mission fig marmalade, and an intermezzo of grapefruit sorbet, followed by more gastronomic decadence, such as sea scallops with truffle pommes mousseline, filet mignon with chanterelle mushrooms and potato croquettes, chocolate profiteroles and more. With your feast comes party favors and live entertainment. Surely the ghost of chanteuse Josephine Baker will be with you to ring in all the fabulous fun!
