Last week I got the chance to see Heathers The Musical, the Off-Broadway version of one of my favorite ‘80s teen comedies.

Around the World in 80 Days comes to Off-Broadway with its classic plot and brand new jokes. The story of a man who bets he can travel around the world—starting and ending in London, England in 1872—by train and boat in just 80 days, Guy LeMonnier leads the five-member cast as bet-maker Phileas Fogg.

New York City offers a veritable revolving door of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows to enjoy. Of course, each season welcomes new larger-than-life musicals, thought-provoking plays and outrageous comedies. However, there are several shows that have been a mainstay of the New York City Theater scene for years that are definitely worth a closer look, including Blue Man Group.

Seeing the long-running percussion show STOMP is definitely one thing every resident and visitor to New York City should do. And now, after seeing the Off-Broadway performance a few weeks ago in its East Village home at the Orpheum Theater, I can finally check it off of my list.
