It’s officially the holiday season! When you’re in NYC this winter and want to spend a couple cozy hours inside, here are some great Christmas shows to take in.

“Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes” presented by Chase (Radio City Music Hall): A NYC tradition since 1933, the Rockettes will delight you with their signature “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “Living Nativity” scenes, as well as other festive featured numbers. Enjoy energetic tap routines, indoor ice-skating and the amazing high kicks of this amazing interpretation what makes the holiday season so special. (Through Jan. 2; Tickets

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical” (Madison Square Garden): The holiday television favorite soars on stage in this live-action version of the tale of the most famous reindeer of all. See Santa, Mrs. Claus, Clarice, Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, the Misfit Toys, the Bumble and Rudolph as they go on their musical adventure to save Christmas and collectively learn that being different is an asset. (Dec. 1-18; Tickets)

“George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®” (Lincoln Center – David H. Koch Theater): The holidays are never complete without enjoying this timeless classic and Tschaikovsky’s gorgeous score. Together, the New York City Ballet Company and students from the School of American Ballet perform Balanchine’s iconic choreography and treat us all with their performance of the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and other memorable moments. (Through Dec. 31; Tickets)

“The First Noel” (Apollo Theater): The Classical Theatre of Harlem is back, in collaboration with the Apollo, with this genre-crossing musical that portrays three generations of a Harlem family during the holiday season and how they overcome a tragic loss with love and the joy of the season. (Dec. 10-18; Tickets)

“Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical” (Broadway – Studio 54): Okay, so “Holiday Inn” covers most of the big holidays during the show, but the Christmas section is extra special in that it includes the Irving Berlin classics “White Christmas” and “Happy Holiday,” as well as an exciting dance sequence that involves tap dancing, juggling and jump ropes. This is one of my favorite Broadway musicals that I’ve seen this year and it is the perfect feel-good show to keep you in the holiday spirit! (Through Jan. 15; Tickets)
