One of my favorite things about fall and winter (besides the cooler weather) are holiday treats! There’s Halloween candy, pies at Thanksgiving and cookies at Christmas, among other decadent desserts. This season when you’re looking to share sweets with your friends and family, add a little extra love by personalizing them! Whether it’s putting your loved one’s name on their favorite treat or baking up something just for them, here’s some spots around NYC that can help make your sweets extra special.

Hershey’s Chocolate World (Times Square): Come into the store to create a customized mix of Hershey’s Miniatures, Hershey’s Kisses and Reese’s Miniatures OR visit their online store to order chocolate bars with personalized wrappers. With three chocolate choices—two 7 oz. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars, one 5 lb. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar or 36 1.5 oz. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars—you also get to select a wrapper, image, image shape and a customized message (with font and color).

Dylan’s Candy Bar (various locations): Whether in-store or online, Dylan’s Candy Bar’s Design Shoppe has dozens of items you can personalize by uploading a design, logo or name and having it displayed on various candy holders, candy bars or Whirly Pops®. Chose colors and flavors of candy to match the holiday or select your loved one’s favorite treats. Dylan’s Candy Bar also has a 3D Gummy Printer. Choose from one of their 20 designs, write your own message or upload an image to create an edible treat made from colorful, flavored gummy candy.

M&M’s® World (Times Square): In-store or online, guests can customize M&M’s® Milk Chocolate Candies for any occasion using the Personalized Printed. Pick colors, use clip art or add your own image, add text and have fun! There are also customizable gift items for personal celebrations and holidays.

If you’re hoping to be a little more hands-on with sweets to bestow upon friends and family, here’s where you can take classes to make all sorts of treats.

Baked (Tribeca): Though Baked also has a Red Hook, Brooklyn location to purchase all sorts of yummy baked goods, classes are held at the Tribeca bakery. Sign up for one of Baked’s classes to learn how to make pumpkin-based treats, holiday pies and cookies. Learn to bake Baked’s popular recipes and take home samples from class as well as a Baked Cookbook to recreate your culinary masterpieces again and again.

Butter Lane (East Village): Cupcakes are a crowd-pleaser and you’ll learn how to make three kinds of cupcakes, as well as icing, at Butter Lane’s cupcakes classes. When the two-hour class is over, you’ll get to take home a box of six cupcakes that would be perfect to share this holiday season.

Mille-Feuille (Greenwich Village): This authentic pâtisserie française is a family-owned craft bakery with locations on the Upper West Side and the Greenwich Village, though the Greenwich Village location is where all of the classes take place. Learn how to make (and also take home!) mille-feuille, croissants, eclairs & choux, as well as flavorful macarons.

Voilà Chocolat (Upper West Side): There are two educational classes available for kids, but there are also walk-in activities for adults and children alike where you can create your own artisanal chocolate treats. Chocolatiering experiences include making and decorating voilàllipops, chocolate bars, truffles, chocolate bark and more. Reserve your place online here.

Have a sweet holiday season!
