Shop Satisfying Scents at Cire Trudon’s First U.S. Freestanding Store

Those with an affinity for luxe French goods, or shoppers looking for the perfect holiday gifts this season, now have the chance to take in the sumptuous scents of Cire Trudon’s candles without leaving the States.

The world’s oldest candle manufacturer (it was founded in France in 1643 on the eve of Louis XIV’s reign) and wax supplier to the royal and imperial courts of France, has opened its first U.S. freestanding store in Nolita this past week.

The intimate downtown destination, a mix of classic and contemporary design, features Parisian flare with an NYC twist—including Maison Jansen chairs, antique Japanese vases, a large antiqued mirror tile band, inspired by the mirror galleries found in French chateaux and high-bourgeois palaces, and neon lights as a nod to New York.

While at the burgundy-hued store, visitors can shop Cire Trudon’s classic candle collection along with limited editions, three-wick Intermezzo and five-wick Grand Bougie candles in select scents, room sprays, scented matches, gift sets, wax busts (sculptured wax works of art) and an extensive assortment of colorful Pillar and Taper candles.

The store is located at 248 Elizabeth Street. For details, click here.
