The Manhattan neighborhood Chelsea is an enclave of beautifully manicured townhouses, rowhouses and independent shops. When you walk further west in this popular community, you will find a large concentration of some of the world’s most renowned art galleries. If exploring the city’s art scene, I suggest you make a stop at Hasted Kraeutler, a contemporary art gallery, which represents an extensive list of established artists from around the world, who work in a wide-range of mediums. This large, ground-floor space recently exhibited Albert Watson’s vintage photographs. Currently, the gallery is displaying the work of German-born writer, filmmaker and photographer Michael Benson. Planetfall, on view thru March 9, examines space exploration through a series of awe-inspiriting photographs. For more on the gallery, click here.
