Prix fixe menu contemporary offerings are served in a tiny space, where guests sample an Izakaya menu and housemade sake-based cocktails, while listening to vinyl playlist curated song-by-song by dining guests. Toshi's Living Room & Penthouse

Catch the days and nights of summer upstairs in the penthouse or watch the world go by from the vantage point of a plush sofa downstairs in the lounge, while sipping on a "Bloodhound" (Tanqueray gin, sweet vermouth, muddled strawberries) or a more innovative cocktail like the Japanese Slipper, made with champagne, Midori, triple sec and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Tribeca Comedy Lounge

Situated beneath a restaurant serving brick-oven pizza and calamari, the brick-walled, candlelit, casually elegant room showcases stand-ups from “Last Comic Standing,” Comedy Central, “Conan” and others.

Trinity Place Bar & Restaurant

This mahogany bar is located in a former bank vault where legend has it that secret meetings of the bank’s board of directors took place in the 1930s. A lengthy menu of fine American specialties includes house-cured duck confit and gorgonzola and ricotta ravioli. L & D (M-F). $$$

Two E Bar Lounge

Signature cocktails—Pierre-Tini (Bulldog gin, housemade garam masala rum, Cointreau, Crème de Yvette, pineapple juice) and White Cosmopolitan (Ultimat vodka, Triple Sec, white cranberry juice, lemon juice), among them—appeal to international palates at this posh hotel lobby bar. Union Hall

Live music nightly, plus two indoor bocce courts, fireplaces and pub grub served until midnight in the 5,000-square-foot Park Slope, Brooklyn, venue.

The buzz at this nightclub hits its pinnacle after 1 am, but the party goes on all night and always with a variety of DJs on both floors. The venue is known for big-name hip-hop artists celebrating album release parties, as well as themed weekday dance celebrations like Weekday Warriors night and TuesdayBabyTuesday. T-Sa 11 pm-4 am. 

Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel



Heated wood floors and retractable glass ceiling and walls make this rooftop resto/cocktail bar an all-season hotspot, with diners taking in the 360-degree view of the city while indulging in curry-coconut chicken pot pie and a cocktail list filled with cute descriptions. The décor, an unexpcted mix of edgy modern and old school ostentacious, adds to the experience.
