The Roof at Viceroy

On a high perch of the timeless and sleek (and very "New York") Viceroy hotel sits this compact nautical rooftop bar that resembles a luxury yacht—with wood paneling, paintings of crashing surf and killer views—where guests can sip classic and novel cocktails, while surveying the well-heeled crowd or take in Central Park Views. Mon-Fri 4 p.m.-4 a.m., Sat & Sun noon-4 a.m.

The Rose Club at The Plaza

Old New York opulence oozes from the iconic Plaza Hotel. The institution's The Rose Club offers a charming plot for a romantic sip, with delightfully ostentatious decor and formally mannered staff. The Plaza's lobby is big, so when searching for The Rose Club, look up and follow the pink light. Colored light fixtures, casting a dim, pink glow, drape the space in a subdued, romantic air. The décor is magenta and gold-colored glitz: mahogany wood paneling, velvety sofas and carefully placed throw pillows.

The Rum House

This well-known Times Square bar entertains with live piano music, classic cocktails and rum-based concoctions.
