The Heights Bar & Grill

This cozy bar and grill caters to the Columbia University crowd and boasts an amazing roof deck for summer sunning and an unbeatable margarita happy hour. Sun-Wed 11:30 a.m.-2 a.m., Thurs-Sat 11:30 a.m.-4 a.m.

The Landmark Tavern

A quintessential woody and warm Irish pub (circa 1868) serves comfort food with élan and a fine selection of single-malt scotches. Daily 11:30 a.m.-4 a.m.

The Lively

Live bands take to the stage and DJs spin in the 3,000-square-foot vaulted and brick-walled underground club, accessorized with murals and curated photos by father-son New York artists, Futura and 13th Witness. This is a no-velvet-ropes club, and dancing is encouraged to house, hip-hop, punk/rock and electronic.

The Living Room

This bustling hotel bar and lounge sits on the seventh floor of the W Hotel and offers inventive housemade cocktails named after New York City neighborhoods, such as the Kew Gardens Gin & Tonic (Hendrick's gin, Aperol, housemade herb simple syrup, cucumber, Peychaud's bitters, Fever-Tree tonic). M-Th 3 pm-1 am, F-Sa noon-4 am, Su noon-1 am. $$$

The Mixing Room

With its Art Deco ambience, the jazz-inspired cocktail lounge and bar offers a contemporary take on the 1920s; mixologist Yusef Austin, aka the “Cocktail Architect,” favors seasonal libations imbued with fresh juices and garnishes.

The Phoenix

(Gay) The dark interior is packed with a pool table, vintage arcade games and a jukebox. Daily 4 p.m.-4 a.m.

The Press Lounge

360-degree views of the NYC skyline encompass guests on the roof of the Ink48 Hotel, in a room with inescapable floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views in a cozy space. Assorted and rotating meats and cheeses are offered to complement the specialty cocktail, wine and beer lists. Open year-round and rain or shine, with a fireplace burning during wintertime. The Randolph at Broome

A coffee bar by day, The Randolph morphs into a sophisticated bar after 5 p.m., where a coffee cocktail, such as the Death in the Morning (iced coffee, yellow chartreuse, tequila, absinthe), packs a caffeine wallop. Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-4 a.m., Sat & Sun 8 a.m.-4 a.m.

The Red Lion

The atmospheric Village pub boasts nightly live music and big-screen TVs for sports fans. Daily 11 a.m.-4 a.m.
