The classic 1956 Lerner & Loewe musical, based on George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion,” returns to Broadway in a new production directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher. Heading the cast are Laura Benanti as Eliza Doolittle (thru July 7, 2019), Harry Hadden-Paton as Henry Higgins (thru July 6, 2019), Danny Burstein as Alfred P. Doolittle (thru April 28, 2019) and Rosemary Harris as Mrs. Higgins. A 29-piece orchestra performs such immortal show tunes as “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” “The Rain in Spain,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face” and “On the Street Where You Live.” Kerstin Anderson plays the role of Eliza Doolittle at all Tuesday evening performances; Michael Halling plays the role of Henry Higgins at all Wednesday evening performances.
