Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is dedicated to the exhibition and interpretation of history, science and service as related to its home aboard the aircraft carrier Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark. As you explore the Museum you will be able to examine original artifacts, view historic video footage and explore interactive exhibits.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

A national historic landmark, the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier offers access to several decks featuring historic aircraft, multimedia presentations, interactive exhibits and flight simulators, plus the guided missile submarine USS Growler, the British Airways Concorde and the space shuttle Enterprise.

Hours: April 1-Oct. 31: M-F 10 am-5 pm, Sa & Su 10 am-6 pm

Nov. 1-March 31: Daily 10 am-5 pm

General admission: $33 adults, $31 seniors (65+), $24 children 5-12, children 4 and under, vetrans and active-duty personnel free.

Irish Hunger Memorial

The memorial, made with stones from each of Ireland’s 32 counties, raises awareness about the events surrounding the Great Irish Famine and Migration (1845-1852).

Italian American Museum

Located in Little Italy and featuring exhibits, events, an archive and library, this small museum tells the story of Italian immigrants in the United States, with special emphasis on their contributions to American society and culture.

The museum is undergoing a major reconstruction and is therefore closed for the remainder of 2018 and most of 2019.

Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art

Built to resemble a Tibetan mountain monastery and dedicated in 1947, the museum houses an impressive collection of Himalayan art, while the landscaped grounds contain a lotus pond and meditation gardens.

Hours: W-Su 1-5 pm Closed Dec. 24 thru mid-Feb.

Admission: $6 adults, $4 seniors/students, children under 6 free.

Jane's Carousel

Created in 1922 and restored beginning in 1984 by Jane Walentas in her DUMBO studio, the carousel was installed in Jean Nouvel’s glass pavilion on the East River in 2011 and now inspires both children and adults with 1,200 sparkling lights and completely revamped decorative details.

Hours: Sept. 18, 2017–May 13, 2018: Th-Su 11 am-6 pm. May 15, 2017–Sept. 17, 2017: M, W-Su 11 am-7 pm

Tickets: $2, children under 3 free when riding with a paying adult

Japan Society

Dedicated to Japanese history, art and culture, this museum offers exhibitions, lectures, festivals, plays, language education, events, movies and more.

Hours: Tu-Th noon -7 pm, F noon-9 pm, Sa-Su 11 am-5 pm

Admission: $12 adults, $10 seniors/students, children under 16 and F 6-9 pm free

Jewish Children’s Museum

This museum presents hands-on exhibits and programs on aspects of Jewish life and heritage geared toward the entire family.

Hours: M-Th 10 am-4 pm, Su 10 am-5:30 pm

Admission: $10, children under 2 free.
