Located within walking distance of the heart of Brooklyn's Williamsburg area, Brooklyn Brewery produces craft beers like its famed Brooklyn Brown, and is open most days into the early evening (for real nightlife, head to one of Williamsburg's many bars). Sign up for a "small batch tour" ($15) to get the insider's view of the brewery's operations (and a chance to taste four beers). The tours aren't massive groups, so sign up early before the spots are gone.
A hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge and one of the oldest of its kind, the Brooklyn Bridge, which connects Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River and at night is enhanced with the twinkling lights from the New York skyline, has a romance to it that New Yorkers and visitors alike enjoy.
During the day, you can take a stroll across the bridge; the pedestrian pathways always crowded on the weekends with people walking, running and biking to and from Manhattan and Brooklyn.
More than 1 million objects make up the multiple permanent collections of this internationally recognized museum. Ancient Egyptian and contemporary American art, among other specialties, are housed in a 560,000-square-foot Beaux Arts building.
