Macy’s Flower Show

Massive floral displays fill the department store’s Broadway windows and main level. The theme for 2019 is “Journey to Paradisios,” a floral celebration of the cosmos.

Macy’s Santaland

Macy’s 13,000-square-foot Christmas village is a fantasyland of holiday sights and sounds for the entire family, culminating in a visit with Santa himself. While Santaland is open to the public free of charge during regular store hours, a visit with Santa is by reservation only, which can be made online.

Madison Square Garden All-Access Tour

This tour of one of the world’s most famous sports and entertainment arenas takes visitors on an exploration of the totally revamped and modernized venue. Highlights include visits to behind-the-scenes areas, a free Boomerang photo op, state-of-the-art virtual reality technology and much more. Tours run daily 9:30 am-3 pm, departing about every 30 minutes, with tours lasting approximately 75 minutes. $33 adults, $28, seniors/students/children 12 and under. Malcolm X Walking Tour

A tour that focuses on sights associated with the life of Malcolm X, a key figure during the Civil Rights Movement. The tour is complemented by multimedia exhibits from the Harlem Heritage Tourism & Cultural Center. Wed. 5-10 p.m. $55 per person.

Manhattan Helicopter Tour

A 15-minute helicopter tour offers visitors the chance to view New York from above. $140 per person. Call for times and departure points.

Manhattan Kayak Company

Aspiring paddlers explore the city’s waters with such popular 75-minute kayaking tours as “Fun in the Sun” and “New York After Dark.” Other excursions include dining tours and visiting the Statue of Liberty or George Washington Bridge. Instruction sessions in kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are also available.
