Indie Designer Showcase

Indie Designer Showcase

Minimalist jewelry from Anastasia Jewelry.

When I shop, I like my purchases to tell a story. That’s why I tend to focus on products from emerging designers—their independent spirits and innovative designs inspire me each time I wear a piece of their vintage-style jewelry, top off my outfit with a sculpted felt cloche or catch a glimpse of a framed print hanging in my living room. To get a taste of what the indie design scene is all about, head to f.a.d. weekend in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, this weekend. The roving fashion, art and design market is popping up in a 1930s goggle factory, where more than 50 emerging and mid-career artists and designers will set up shop on Sept. 24-25 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Highlights of the eclectic market include urban photo journals from Arthurious Shop, shibori-dyed crop-tops from Yuiitsu Dye Shop, delicate minimalist bracelets from Anastasia Jewelry and lampshades handmade out of traditional Mexican embroidered fabric from Nahual. Prepare for a weekend of seriously inspiring retail therapy!
