While New York has been experiencing an unreasonably, unseasonably cold Spring, I sometimes enjoy perusing the pictures of my friends back in California, basking in the sun at the beach. Not because I'm a masochist so much as the fact that thinking warm, sometimes makes you feel just a little bit hotter. Which is why the Havaianas press event down in Soho was the perfect pick-me-up for mid-week weather woes.
With everyone floating around in their signature Havaianas flip-flops, including the cater-waiters, who all happened to be charmingly handsome in that effortless California way and serving cute, baja-flavored bites, such as tuna tartare tacos, mini-tostadas, spinach and cheese empanadas plus a wicked mango lemonade vodka cocktail, it was a recipe for sunshine. And when that sunshine finally arrives, I'll be sporting my Havaianas sandals poolside—they've got quite a selection happening for the upcoming season: Polka dots, snakeskin, leopard print, and an awesome PacMan game design on the sole of your shoe, for your entertainment, and mine.
» Havaianas are sold at Bloomingdale's, Barneys New York and other retail locations throughout the city.
