What do you get when you mix a famous purveyor of fine cigars and cigarettes with a hip whiskey distillery slash chocolate factory connected to a chic bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn? The coolest pop-up shop that ever was. Nat Sherman has opened up a discreet pop-up library of the finest smokes right around the corner from a little known bar named Botanica, which is also carrying the cigars for its delicious pairing specials. A leisurely cigar goes really well with a drink—try the Hemingway, a refreshing rum cocktail, with the Host Hobart cigar from Honduras, highly recommended for the ladies. Or to sample one of the Widow Jane Distillery's own whiskeys, the Paddle Boat cocktail will do you well, paired with the Nat Sherman Timeless 546 cigar. While you're in the neighborhood, do stop into the distillery, which smells thankfully of chocolate, being that it is located in the home of Cacao Prieto, the chocolate factory. Tour the premises with a member of the friendly staff. It's a beauty and a wonder, and never before did cigars, whiskey and chocolate go so well together.
