Swank Paint Party at The Standard, East Village

Venezuelan artist David Foote creates "Peace Line Paintings." Take a look at the series this weekend at The Standard East Village.

Have a good time for a good cause at The Standard East Village this weekend! On Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 the hip hotel is hosting live painting parties in its garden with the Venezuelan artist David Foote and a group of stylish hosts, including designer Timo Weiland (Su). The paintings up for sale honor the Latin and gay communities affected by the horrible mass shooting that took place June 11 at Pulse Night Club in Orlando, FL. A percentage of the proceeds from works sold go to families of victims. At the event, guests can enjoy the summer weather, sip refreshing cocktails and watch the artist create lively paintings. In Foote’s “Peace Line Paintings” black-and-white, stylish archetypes (think fur clad-women you’d likely see strolling Park Ave.) are painted on vibrant backdrops of red, orange and turquoise. Pieces are priced at $350.

June 18-19, noon-6 pm at The Garden at The Standard, East Village, 25 Cooper Sq., btw E. 5th & E. 6th sts.
