NYC Booze Fest Toasts to Animal Welfare

This week, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) named the Big Apple as the most vegan-friendly city in America—and rightfully so. In addition to tons of amazing meat-free restaurants, the city hosting a vegan alcohol festival on Saturday, Sept. 20. The Better Booze Festival will showcase alcoholic products that are free of ingredients derived from animals, which could include fish bladders, gelatin and egg whites. Guests can expect tastes of artisan beer, wine, cider and spirits, along with vegan food pairings from Brooklyn’s renowned cruelty-free eateries The V-Spot, Champs Family Bakery and Rescue Chocolate. The party kicks off at Center 548 (548 W. 22nd St.) and welcomes guests in two three-hour sessions, one at 1 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at betterboozefest.eventbrite.com.
