Taste of TriBeCa

Taste of TriBeCa

The partners at the Myriad Restaurant Group, those brilliant entrepreneurial minds behind such NYC culinary landmarks as Nobu and TriBeCa Grill, have opened up yet another gem of an eatery in TriBeCa. Their latest project: the Austrian-inflected Bâtard. The room has been warmed up with rich wood flooring, subdued lighting and crystal chandeliers. The menu, which offers two, three- and four-course prix fixe dinners, has provocative options like octopus “pastrami” (above), and stellar bay oysters with fried pig’s tails, as well as a spectacular, silky-tender branzino, partnered wtih butternut squash, grilled lettuce and pumpkin seed vinaigrette. No wonder there is a parade of dazzling dishes: the kitchen is helmed by the gifted Austrian-born chef Markus Glocker, who has quickly earned his stars and stripes: a three-star rating from The New York Times, three stars from New York magazine and a Michelin star to boot. Looks like another TriBeCa star is born, as well.
