Parkside Feasting

Parkside Feasting

Food Festivals—The Big Apple, quite literally, has them by the truckload, and one of the most appealing is Madison Square Eats, located right outside Madison Square Park, btw 24th & 25th sts., and btw Fifth Ave. & Broadway. The festival, which comes at a perfect time of year, just when summer’s unrelenting heat has morphed into the gentle breezes and temperate climate of early fall, offers eager eaters (and drinkers) some 30 different booths  in which to enjoy a wide range of apps, main courses, sandwiches, beer, wine and cocktails. You can sample some Big Easy gumbo at the Gumbo Bros.; authentic Italian beer at Turan; sweet babkas and rugelach at Breads Bakery, as well as truffle French fries, Japanese curry beef tacos, agave wine margaritas, Nutella coco crepes, and so much more from the ethnically diverse vendors that populate the square.  So go ahead and manger, or mangia, or mangiore or spise: in any language, it’s all so good! Madison Square Eats is open thru Oct. 3, every day from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
