Holiday Feasts on the Town

Find yourself in Manhattan on Christmas day? No need to order room service or make due with nearest coffee shop for brunch or dinner. Below are five fantastic options for Christmas day feasts, from creative spins on holiday classics to Italian supper accompanied by classic show tunes. The Lambs Club

Guests in this first floor space with an upscale retro-diner décor, complete with red leather banquettes and mod lighting, are front and center for live caroling. The menu includes a wide range of options, from healthy (cold poached tuna salad with artichoke, soft-cooked egg, topped with mustard-olive vinaigrette) to indulgent (The Lambs Club burger with sharp cheddar, shallots on toasted challah roll) to festive (stuffed French toast topped with pear-cranberry chutney). Save room for dessert! Great for kids and adults alike, diners conclude meals with rich hot chocolate (milk, white and dark) and their choice of toppings, including brownies, peppermint sticks and fresh whipped cream. Arabelle

Located on the Upper East Side in the Plaza Athénée Hotel, Arabelle’s stately dining room, with ornate chandeliers and golden walls, offers a French-inflected prix-fixe brunch. Dishes on this menu include roasted tenderloin topped with foie gras, fingerling potatoes, baby carrots and truffle sauce; and a buffet of appetizers including soft and hard cheeses, charcuterie and assorted terrines. Marie Antoinette may or may not have said “Let them eat cake,” and here you shall. Brunch ends with a buffet of decadent desserts including French macarons, Bûche de Noël and more. The Garden

An elegant, tree-lined space perched above the lobby of the Four Seasons hotel features a upscale spin on holiday brunch, with such dishes as chestnut bisque with black truffles and spiced duck steak with yam and chestnut hash. The three-course menu ends with decadent desserts including individual yule logs and sticky date pudding with caramel crunch ice cream. This option is perfect for a relaxed Christmas day including a walk in Central Park or along the dressed storefronts along Fifth ave. Dec. 25 12:30-2:30 pm. $139 per person. Want to get an early start on your New Year’s resolution of a healthy, new you? This Union Square spot offers a seven-course tasting menu of sushi and light Japanese dishes for an eclectic Christmas dinner. Each course is crafted with fresh, seasonably available ingredients, including turnip, Fuji apple, Alaskan king crab and blowfish. KTCHN

For dinner Theater District guests and Broadway lovers can grab a seat in Out Hotel’s KTCHN where Broadway performer Donnie Kehr (from the original cast of Jersey Boys and other hits including Billy Elliot the musical) serenades Christmas supper with piano accompaniment. This elegant dining room with gray banquettes and dark wood pillars features a prix-fixe menu of Italian-American dishes, including grilled salmon with garlic sautéed spinach and tomatoes; and penne alla vodka with Romano cheese and cream sauce.
