The Statue of LIberty lies in pieces—52 copper fragments, to be exact—in Brooklyn and in Lower Manhattan. No, an unimaginable catastrophe hasn't ripped apart the beloved symbol of freedom. Rather, conceptual artist Danh Vo has deconstructed the icon for a two-part outdoor exhibition, Danh Vo: We the People, presented by the Public Art Fund, that compels us to consider the familiar monument in a whole new way. Browse the slides, then take in the show, which is up thru Dec. 5.
