Espresso and Exquisite Forgery at a SoHo Café

Lines at Paris' Louvre are notoriously long. Throngs of visitors clamoring to stand in front of the "Mona Lisa," her strange smile somehow justifying all the time they've waiting just to bask in her glow for a few minutes in a crowded and stuffy museum room.

Master Forger Mark Landis, who has duped scores of museums with his painting reproductions and is the subject of a new documentary Art and Craft, has brought the famous portrait—or at least a version of it that's pretty much as close as one can get—to Think Coffee, a favorite hangout of NYU students on 248 Mercer St (btw W. 3rd & W 4th sts., 212.228.6226). You can purchase the work for $25,000 or simply get a coffee for $1.85 and take it in over a few contemplative sips.

It's not the Louvre, but it'll do.

Art and Craft opens this coming Friday, Oct. 3.
