The Perfect Shoes For a Fall Getaway in NYC

Central Park in the Fall (©VidFame, LLC)

Fall is my favorite season of the year. Following the relatively slow summer months, New York begins to buzz again and the cultural calendar kicks into high gear with film festivals, Broadway openings, gallery exhibits, and more. Central Park’s 843 acres of paths, lakes, ponds, trees and open meadows all begin to turn beautiful shades of red and orange; the view is spectacular. If you're planning a visit to the city selecting a wardrobe for fall’s moody weather can be challenging. If you're like me, you always bring too many shoes filling up your suitcase with options “just in case.” Well here are four concrete shoe choices that I found will always have you showing up in style and are so versatile you won’t need to run back to your hotel room for a costume change before dinner.

Bejeweled Bootie: A Show on “The Great White Way”

Fall is the best time to visit Broadway with new production premieres seemingly every week. The marquee-lit streets are full of musicals and plays, actors telling extraordinary stories that inspire us and move us to tears.  What better way to compliment the glitz and drama of the theater than adding a touch glitter and shine to your outfit with the Pearl Bacari bootie. These bejeweled ankle boots are a classy accessory with a chic, pearl-encrusted, suede wrapped block heel. The suede makes it flexible and comfortable while the rounded square toe gives it little extra flair. Price: $575

The Embellished Flat: Central Park

In the Fall, Central Park’s 843 acres of paths, lakes, ponds, trees and open meadows all begin to turn beautiful shades of red and orange; the view is spectacular. Taking the day to explore this iconic park will require a very comfortable shoe, and I’ve found that the Arky Flat is perfect. I’m a huge fan of these menswear-inspired loafers because of their sleek almost 18th-century Parisian look with the feathering detail. You can wear these on a horse-carriage ride through the park or long walk around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, or even a picturesque boat rides on the Lake. Crafted from a signature high-gloss material and ultra-luxe velvet, these will add polish to your cool weather look. Price: $398

Over the Knee Boot: Cultural Festivals

I have a deep love for high-knee boots—especially with leggings. One of my favorites is the All Jack boot. All Jack gives a nod to the 60’s fashionista with a sophisticated style that's versatile enough for a full day but can move seamlessly into a fun night of adventure. It’s best feature is the micro stretch back that provides a form-fitting fabulous fit. They’re super comfortable and perfect for exploring festivals and galleries throughout the city including the Guggenheim boasting new exhibits from masterful artists, the New York City Wine & Food Festival, which features the best of the city's dining scene as well as celebrity chefs from around the world, and much more. Price: $765
