Top 5 Picture-Worthy Shopping and Dining Destination Combos

New York City is known for its photogenic skyscraper views and taxicab shots. Off the beaten path of the typical city landscape photo, explore some new spots to take the perfect pic for Instagram. Here are five picture-worthy shopping and dining destination combos found only in NYC.

1. Dover Street Market/Banc Cafe

Dover Street Market is an upscale multi-level fashion retailer offering all your favorite luxe brands. This fashion-forward market has created designated departments, furnished and decorated to look like an art installation of each brand. This streetwear-inspired store offers exclusive lines from high-end designers such as Louis Vuitton, Mansur Gavriel and Stüssy.

After your chic shopping excursion at Dover Street Market, head over to Banc Cafe. Their prosciutto & fig flatbread is a must and you can't go wrong with a side of parmesan truffle fries!

Photo Ops: Take a photo walking up Dover Street Market's abstract tunneled staircase connecting the third and fourth floors OR of one of the many intricate visual displays.

2. Public Factory/Grand Bar & Lounge

Located in the Soho Grand Hotel, Public Factory features both art and fashion. The company’s business approach is similar to WeWork, yet for retail. This concept store has created a platform for new designers to get their foot into Manhattan retail by subdividing its location and providing short-term leases. Public Factory is currently carrying collections from Carnivel, Elkel and Amalya. The store is also displaying artwork from up-and-coming artists including Evan Sebastian Lagache and Hallie Hard of House of Hart.

Afterwards, walk a few feet over to the hotel's Grand Bar & Lounge and order yourself one of its original cocktails. I recommend either the Good Friday (Cana Brava rum, lime juice, passion fruit, cinnamon) or The Vesuvio (vodka, St. George Spiced Pear, lemon juice, ginger, honey, seltzer).

Photo Ops: Take a selfie in their paint splattered bathroom mirror OR of Diego Montoya's exploding heads art installation.

3. Anthom/Galli Restaurant

This SoHo womenswear boutique will make you feel as if you have just walked into an art gallery. Anthom is framed with bright white floors, walls, and ceilings with wood and copper visual displays—perfect for a minimalistic fashion-inspired Instagram. If you are looking for rare finds, this store holds a bevy of them, including cobalt blue fur BB pumps from Amelie Pichard and Henrik’s Vibskov’s abstract printed and textured socks. This store offers a variety of emerging local designers and hard-to-find international brands.

Afterwards, venture to Galli Restaurant for some of the best Italian comfort food in the city. The dimly-lit rustic brick-walled restaurant furnished with barn-like décor will have you feeling like you are dining in an underground trattoria in Naples. I recommend splitting the eggplant parm appetizer and splurging on the homemade tiramisu.

Photo Ops: Play dress up and take a selfie in one of Anthom's cool white dressing rooms OR snap a photo of one of Galli’s picture-perfect pasta entrees.

4. Brooklyn Flea/Smorgasburg

Beginning November 5th, Brooklyn’s Skylight One Hanson will host the Brooklyn Flea every weekend, drawing in NYC foodies and flea market enthusiasts. The market will offer a diverse selection of 100 different antique, vintage clothing, furniture and craft vendors, as well as 25 of Smorgasburg's delicious food vendors that change seasonally.

Past Smorgasburg favorites have been Wowfulls (known for its Hong Kong egg waffle ice cream cones) and Ramen Burger (famous for creating the original ramen burger).

Photo Ops: Be the first to post a picture of the boundless options of food Smorgasburg has to offer—with it’s new location in the background—OR of the jaw-dropping 63-foot mosaic mural ceiling right above the market.

5. Bergdorf Goodman/BG Restaurant

You can't fully experience the lavish life of a New Yorker until you venture into elite Bergdorf Goodman. Only found in New York, Bergdorf Goodman offers a swanky assortment of luxury goods, from a pair of bordeaux Guiseppe Zanotti Velvet Skull Cyrstal Smoking Slippers to an ANNA by RabLabs Kiva 42K Gold & Sliced Quartz Platter for $495.

Located on the seventh floor of the department store, Bergdorf’s, BG Restaurant is the ultimate savvy shopper’s lunch spot. The upscale café offers a variety of teas, scones, finger sandwiches and delectable entrées. Call ahead for a reservation and ask for a table by a window to get a full view of Central Park.

Photo Ops: Make your social media followers envious with a mirror selfie in one of Bergdorf Goodman's many elegantly decorated rooms OR opt for a scenic photo of one of the grand chandeliers. Bergdorf’s also creates some of the most photo-worthy window displays on Fifth Avenue, featuring Swarovski crystals, chandeliers and high-end designer merchandise.
