Summer Events at American Girl Place New York

When I was a kid, I read every available American Girl book, poured over my American Girl magazine subscription and—after a few Christmases of begging for an American Girl doll—received an 18-inch-tall version of Kirsten, the Swedish immigrant living in 1850’s Minnesota whose doll counterpart has since been retired. When the catalog-based company finally began opening brick and mortar shops, I dreamed of visiting an American Girl Place. In the years since, the stores have spread across the country from their Chicago flagship to New York, Los Angeles, Miami and more.

This summer at American Girl Place New York, girls can shop for dolls accessories, dine at the American Girl Café and participate in a slew of special events. These events range from free crafting sessions, during which girls can create anklets and bookmarks, to full afternoons consisting of a meal at the café and a Broadway show, like Wickedor Disney’s Aladdin. Reservations are required for the Broadway events, but many others are free and open to the public. For more information, visit americangirl.com.
