History, Customer Service and a Range of Toys at Mary Arnold Toys

I wish I’d known about the Upper East Side’s Mary Arnold Toys when I was a kid. The store, which has been in business since 1931, reminds me of the Upper West Side children’s bookstore from one of my favorite movies You’ve Got Mail. It’s packed full of toys for newborns through tweens and the expert employees will help you find the perfect gift based on age and interests, either in person or over the phone. In fact, store owner Ezra Ishayik says many phone orders come from long-time customers who have been shopping at Mary Arnold since they were children and now buy gifts for their grandchildren.

Along with great customer service and an impressive history, the store also holds events in its small space. The mobile center shelves move aside to make room for long tables where Mary Arnold hosts LEGO make-and-takes, author readings and more. This Saturday, visit the shop at 10 a.m. for their next LEGO event.

Mary Arnold offers free delivery in the immediate area and can accommodate same-day delivery for any location in Manhattan. Check out the store in person, order by phone or visit their website at maryarnoldtoys.com.
