I always believe the best gifts are those that have a story. New York City, with a plethora of independent shops—carrying everything from one-of-a-kind artwork and home décor, to artisanal foods and vintage fashions—is one of the best places to find unique treasures for you or a loved one. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I suggest a trip to Little King Jewelry, a contemporary jewelry boutique in SoHo, which uses precious recycled metals to create an eclectic mix of baubles—from classic to indie, rock and roll to one-of-a-kind, and couture jewelry for all occasions. The large store displays a selection of jewelry in interesting cabinets mounted on the walls. Keep in mind this is only a fraction of what you can purchase at the boutique—with a workshop downstairs, the team creates everything on-site and can help you design the perfect customized piece. The store even has a mascot—AJ Perrotta, a cute little dog the Village Voice named Best Shop Pet 2012. Check out his Facebook page, here. For more on Little King Jewelry, click here.
