Find Your Perfect Size with Me-Ality at Bloomingdale’s

A few weeks ago, I discovered Me-Ality at Bloomingdale’s. This machine, called a Size-Matching Station, takes the guesswork out of shopping for clothes by scanning your body to gauge your measurements. After the scan, the computer will locate clothing based on your measurements that is expected to best fit you. If there aren’t many matches in the store, you can also use the Me-Ality website to find more options from a wider variety of brands.

Luckily for me, one of the few Bloomingdale’s stores to offer this service is located in Manhattan. After work recently, I headed to Midtown East to test out Me-Ality. After a quick scan, the machine printed my results: a list of 20 pairs of jeans, with a scale below each item showing how well they would fit. The helpful employee operating the machine explained that I could try on the pants listed, with assistance from a Bloomingdale’s denim specialist, or visit me-ality.com to shop online.

While I didn’t end up purchasing any denim that day, I’m planning to use my Me-Ality measurements in the future. I’ve always had trouble finding jeans that fit me well, but now that I know my sizes in the all the brands and styles Me-Ality partners with, I can shop online without worrying about return policies.
