While my fashion sense usually revolves around a uniform of button-downs, jeans and sneakers, if I’m looking to dress up, I lean toward mid-century styles. The Lower East Side’s Tatyana Boutique offers just that: upscale-retro dresses, tops, skirts and accessories.

The New York location is part of a chain of over a dozen shops around the country, plus one Canadian outpost and an ecommerce site. While the Las Vegas-based company has been around for eight years, this February, the brand formerly known as Bettie Page Clothing re-launched as Tatyana, after its founder Tatyana Khomyakova.

Manager Hayley Griffin of Tatyana’s NYC boutique says some of the shop’s most popular styles include dresses like the Alika, the Captain and the Jazmin Circle as well as the Catwalk skirt. The shop also recently launched its fall collection, with plenty of new vintage-style dresses and coats to fit the cooler weather. My favorite is the Florence skirt in one of my favorite fall colors: a deep avocado green.

This weekend, the boutique is a sponsor of the New York Burlesque Festival, with events at a handful of venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Stop by the festival tonight or Sunday to check out Tatyana’s booth.
