Beer Blast in Brooklyn

Beer Blast in Brooklyn

Coney Island is legendary for many things—its boardwalk, beach, the Cyclone (which just turned 90 years old!), and Nathan’s Hot Dogs. But more recently, Coney Island Brewery has created a whole summer’s worth of fun. Besides its brewery tours and offerings of its classic beers like Mermaid Pilsner and Overpass IPA on tap, as well as its Coney Island-inspired beer creations like Watermelon Wheat and Bowery Bite, the brewery offers a number of events that are designed to lure everyone from yogis to fireworks lovers to movie fans.

Mondays, from 5 to 8 pm, the brewery’s Industry Night encourages local workers and visitors alike to join in and have a brew or two with happy hour pricing and group tours of the brewery. On select Wednesdays, local yoga instructors will be offering sunset yoga on the Coney Island beach at 7 pm; Sunday morning yoga sessions take place in the Beer Garden of the brewery at 11 am. Afterwards, of course, people are encouraged to stop by the brewery for happy hour-priced pints. Thursdays are Movies n' Malt nights: Films are shown in the Beer Garden, and Brooklyn Popcorn discounts are offered. And with Fridays comes a fireworks extravaganza on the boardwalk (as of June 30).

There are plenty of other events to keep you partying all summer as well, such as a mini-craft beer festival at Citi Field on July 22 and September 22, before the Mets games; daily opportunities to drink Coney Island Beer on Circle Line’s Landmarks + Brooklyn Cruise; an Elements Music Festival (August 12 and 13), of which Coney Island Brewery is the exclusive craft beer partner; plus lots more.
