The Midnight Hour Takes the Stage at Manderley Bar

The Midnight Hour is the newest project from A Tribe Called Quest founding member Ali Shaheed Mohammed and LA-based producer, composer, arranger and instrumentalist Adrian Younge. On Thursday, December 13th, the dynamic duo—each of whom is a music industry legend on individual merit—bring a talented core of musicians with them on stage at Manderley Bar, the speakeasy-style jazz concert hall and cocktail lounge inside the five-story, super-multi-purpose McKittrick Hotel at 530 W. 27th St., btw 10th & 11th aves., in Chelsea.

The band will be diving into a catalogue of tracks from their latest record, their self-titled debut, a 20-track jazz, soul and hip-hip record that features the likes of CeeLo Green, Raphael Saadiq, Masha Ambrosius, Bilal, Allen Kane and Karolina. The album delves into the styles of music made famous by the jazz and funk pioneers who inspired the plethora of samples used by 1980s and 1990s hip-hop producers. The New York City stop is the 11th stop on the band's two-month tour, which concludes in Palm Springs, California on New Year's Eve.

The Midnight Hour hits the stage twice on Thursday, performing a 10:30 pm set (for which doors open at 10 pm) and a midnight set (for which doors open at 11:45 pm). Tickets—which cost $20 for general admission and $35 for reserved seating—can be purchased here or on the event's Facebook page
