Syndicated Now Open In Bushwick, Brooklyn

Dinner and a movie has been the go-to date night option pretty much since the early days of cinema. Usually, you have dinner one place before or after seeing a show somewhere else. Well, there are a couple venues in NYC that have paired the two, and a new one just opened in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Syndicated is a new restaurant, bar and independent movie theater all rolled into one that recently opened across the East River in ever-popular Brooklyn. The venue, housed in a former warehouse space, hearkens back to the film palaces of yesteryear.

In the dining room, patrons can chow down on New American fare, such as Scrumpets, a creative interpretation of a corned beef and rye sandwich using house-made corned beef short rib breaded in panko and fried; Popcorn-crusted Fried Oysters; Bacon Butter Maple Meatballs; and Duck Confit Nachos; plus larger entrées (think Hurricane Popcorn Tuna with horseradish beets and Slow-Cooked Lamb Ribs with harissa glaze); sandwiches; burgers and more. Foodies can wash down the fare with interesting elixirs like the Redrum, with Blackwell rum, Brugal Añejo, Cynar, Aperol, lemon, simple syrup, Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters; and the Up In Smoke, made with Herradura tequila, mezcal, maraschino, orange blossom, egg white, Crème de Menthe, lemon and simple syrup. Fans of bubbly beverages can opt for one (or more) of the 10 NYC-breweries-based beers on tap.

If you’d prefer to pair dinner with the show, several menu items are available in the theater, as well as special creations that will accompany the movies being screened. Movie munchies also include eight types of gourmet popcorn (popped in house) and artisanal snacks.

Films include everything from recent indie flicks to 80s blockbusters. The venue also offers special events series and discussions.
