On Saturday night, I saw Pippin—the Broadway show that recently won the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival. The originally production enjoyed a long run on the Great White Way in the 1970s. The musical follows the tale of a young prince on his journey to find purpose in his life and maps out the obstacles he faces along the way. The updated production was great, with standout performances by Patina Miller as the Leading Player and Andrea Martin as Pippin’s grandmother, Berthe. Both even nabbed Tonys for their performances. This is the show to see for any fans of musicals, but it’s also a big draw for anyone that loves the circus. The show features magic and amazing acrobatic feats—think limber actors jumping through hoops, balancing on unstable objects and more. For more information, click here.
