InterSchool Orchestras of New York to Honor David Amram in April

On Wednesday, April 18 at 7 pm, the InterSchool Orchestras of New York (ISO) Symphony celebrates 46 years of making music with young musicians, at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. This year's Gala Concert by the InterSchool Orchestra of New York honors conductor and composer David Amram and his historic career in music.

Led by Music Director Brian Worsdale, the ISO Symphony will perform En Memoria de Chano Pozo, composed and conducted by David Amram and featuring a solo performance from Amram himself. The evening's special guest, renwoned Violinist Elmira Darvarova, will perform a special violin solo during Elegy for Violin and Orchestra, also composed and conducted by David Amram. The symphony, serving more than 300 musically-talented, school-aged New York City children, will also perform works by Leonard Bernstein during this special evening.

The InterSchool Orchestras of New York symphony, made up of six orchestras and two symphonic bands, performs to more than 9,000 spectators annually.

Tickets for the Gala Concert in honor of David Amram are $25, and can be purchased at https://ci.ovationtix.com/34951/production/988743?performanceId=10256705
