Halloween Parties in NYC

Sure, trick-or-treating is fun, and, of course, NYC’s annual Halloween Parade is a must to show of your best costume or get ideas for next year’s get-up. But, if attending an epic party is part of this evening’s plans, check out one of the venues below for some fright night fun.

In Midtown West, Culture Club nightclub will be decked out in festive décor for its Halloween shindig. The dance party will feature a live DJ performing sets of dance, ‘80s, ‘90s, hip-hop and rock from a state-of-the-art sound system. Kurt Cobain fans—or those that have an affinity for the early ‘90s grunge scene—should definitely make a stop in the Nirvana Room on the third floor. And you don’t have to adjust your costume while dancing or worry about smearing that meticulously applied Halloween makeup, as costumes are optional. Group packages, aptly named Thriller, Ghostbuster, Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun are available. For more info., click here.

For a little more risqué Halloween cheer, head to the Fourth Annual Haunted Mansion Party (222 W. 44th St.). Hosted by former Playboy playmates Courtney Culkin and Monica Leigh, the party includes complimentary vodka cocktails from 8 to 9 p.m. (for all ticketholders) and live DJ music. Open bar ticketholders enjoy extra perks—like no-cost libations from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information, click here.

All Hallow’s Eve fun with a view is attainable at Monarch Rooftop Lounge. The venue, which offers up picture-perfect views of Midtown (including the Empire Stare Building) from its 18th floor perch, will host the Mad King’s Masquerade Halloween party and guests are treated to a one-hour vodka open bar; and wicked beats of the Top 40, dance, hip hop and mash ups variety. For a break and bit of fresh air, the space’s floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead to a large balcony with plush outdoor seating. For more, including plenty of group packages, click here.
