Get Up And Dance at Howl at the Moon

Have you ever been to a piano bar? It’s a pretty interesting experience, which usually includes a bit of audience participation paired with lively anecdotes from sweaty musicians between sets.

What these venues normally don’t include are a bountiful selection of booze and the room to get up and dance. Enter Howl at the Moon. The popular destination, best described as a live music venue (complete with pianos, singers and more) and nightclub, has locations throughout the country, plus spots on Norwegian Cruise Line vessels. Now, New Yorkers and visitors in the mood for a lively night out on the town can check out Howl at the Moon’s newest location in Midtown West.

At the venue, a roster of in-house musicians and singers give it their all—performing covers of popular songs, such as disco hit “Lady Marmalade,” R&B staple “No Diggity” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Partygoers can rock out to these and other chart toppers from the 70s, 80, 90s and today while sipping on a wide variety interestingly named cocktails, including an assortments of Howl at the Moon’s signature 86oz bucket of booze (think Adios Mofo, comparable to a Long Island Iced Tea with Blue Curacao; Sex on the Moon, with Pinnacle Tropical Punch Vodka; and X-Boyfriend, complete with X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, SKYY Infusions Vanilla Bean Vodka and tropical juices). Those that don’t want to tackle the bucket can opt for single-serving cocktails such as Jameson & Ginger, with, you guessed it, Jameson Irish Whiskey and Gosling’s Ginger Beer; and Sunglasses at Night, with Tincup Whiskey, peach purée and orange bitters. The well-stocked bar also includes plenty of shots and other spirits.

The venue hosts private events Sun. thru Tues. and is open to the public Wed. and Thurs. from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Fri. and Sat. from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Want to possibly snag a free happy hour at the venue? Enter to win one of Howl at the Moon's happy hour party giveaways here.

The opening weekend was a blast to say the least!! I am so very proud of my father and brother in law and their partners...a dream come true for them for sure. Howl is such a unique experience, I don't think I ever stopped dancing or singing all weekend. Probably explains why I left New York with no voice. :)
