Free NYC Concerts This Weekend

Concertgoers can bop to the beat at plenty of free performances around town. Tonight, American poet, spoken word artist and actor Lemon Andersen, as well as #LoveHustle featuring DJ Reborn & J. Keys will perform at SummerStage Red Hook Park at 7 p.m. This free Brooklyn concert is great for all ages. Also tonight, The Fred Norris Band—fronted by the namesake Howard Stern radio show alum—will perform at The Bowery Electric at 8 p.m. This free Lower East Side concert is for the 21-and-older crowd. Fans of Jazz can head to SummerStage Central Park for  the Blue Note Jazz Festival Saturday, June 6. The concert, with doors opening at 2 p.m. for a 3 p.m. start time, will include sets by Meshell Ndegeocello, Roy Hargrove and Gabriel Garzón-Montano. Also June 6, Charlotte OC will take the stage at Brooklyn Night Bazaar—the flea-market-like shindig with live bands, food vendors and more—at 7:30 p.m. Otto’s Shrunken Head will boast a jam-packed lineup on Sunday (June 7) during the East Village venue’s Frank Wood’s Wind Down Sundays series, with performances by Geri Dejohn & Flyboy, Vince Johnson & Friends, 30th Street Blues Band, Harry Up!, and Paul Anthony Project. Performances begin at 5:30 p.m. and you must be 21 or older to get in. Also on Sunday, concertgoers can enjoy the beauty of Bryant Park when Music From China, a group of composers that feature a mix of traditional Chinese and contemporary classical music, perform. Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Ben Wendel will also perform with his Ben Wendel Group that night. The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m.
