Cultural Outing Alert: New York Theatre Ballet to Perform at New York Live Arts

Want to add a cultural outing to your NYC plans this week? If you’re in the mood to see a show with plenty of plies and pirouettes, might I suggest a trip to New York Live Arts in Chelsea to see the New York Theatre Ballet.

The ballet company—which performs chamber ballet masterpieces, new works and one-hour ballets for children—will perform at New York Live Arts Feb. 24 thru 27 as part of the Legends and Visionaries 2016 series. The program will include the New York Theatre Ballet premiere of Jerome Robbins’ Antique Epigraphs set to Debussy’s “6 Épigraphes Antiques”; the world premiere of San Francisco choreographer Milissa Payne Bradley’s Chemical Bond set to “Serenade Op. 98 Apres un Reve” by Gabriel Fauré; Richard Alston’s Such Longing set to “Mazurkas” by Frédéric Chopin; and Song Before Spring set to Philip Glass’ Piano Etudes Nos. 1-10, choreographed by Zhong-Jing Fang and Steven Melendez, featuring the NYU Steel Drum Ensemble led by Josh Quillen, Director of the NYU Steel Drum Ensemble and Jonathan Haas, Director of Percussion Studies at NYU Steinhardt.
