Watch CONCACAF Gold Cup Soccer Games At Salón Hecho

The CONCACAF Gold Cup Soccer Tournament—the main association football competition of the men’s national football teams, which determines the regional championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean—takes place thru July 26.

Although you can watch the games in the privacy of your own home (or hotel room), why not toast the festive occasion with other fútbol fans? Need a place to go? Might I suggest a trip to Lower East Side Mexican outpost Hecho en Dumbo’s next-door bar and event space, Salón Hecho.

While chowing down on Mexico City-style creations by Executive Chef Danny Mena (think Corn Tostada with crab and fluke ceviche in a clamato broth; Grilled Short Rib and Caramelized Cheese Tacos; and Queso Fundido with diner’s choice of chorizo, poblano peppers, or huitlacoche), as well as creative cocktails including a variety of margaritas and micheladas, folks can watch the adrenaline-inducing matches on the venue’s projector, including the Mexican team’s game against Trinidad on July 15th at 8:30 p.m.

Since sports and specials go hand in hand, visitors to the space can take advantage of wallet-friendly offerings like the Dos Pistolas drink special, which includes a shot of mezcal and a beer for $10. The space, which is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., also boasts a pretty worthwhile happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. (8 p.m. at the bar), featuring  $5 beer, $6 wines by the glass, $6 guacamole and $9 queso.
