Blogologues Brings Internet Shenanigans to the Stage

Blogologues Brings Internet Shenanigans to the Stage

The Internet has taken over our lives. That probably sounds pretty extreme…so let me rephrase: the Internet is a big part of our daily lives. I mean, think about it. You can pretty much do anything on the wonderful worldwide web—from ordering takeout and laundry delivery to chatting (or arguing) with people from across the planet and learning more about your family’s history. So, it was only a matter of time before our sometimes bizarre, and often hilarious, cyberspace encounters would make it to an NYC stage. That time has come in the form of Blogologues, which will perform at Brooklyn’s Union Hall this Friday, Feb. 26.

At this raunchy sketch comedy show (suitable for the 21 and over set, FYI), funny ladies Allison Goldberg and Jen Jamula perform text word-for-word from the Internet, acting out community forums, Yelp reviews, fan fiction, tweets, OkCupid profiles and more. At the Friday show, expect the hilarious duo, with help from Tommy Heleringer, to cover the ever-interesting world of sugar babies, plus mixologists with an affinity for using less than traditional ingredients, offensive fan fiction and a lively discussion about “the Donald,” as in Mr. Donald Trump.

The enthusiastic performers like to have fun with the dialogue, performing text in the style of everything from a kid’s book report to a full-blown musical number. To keep the twist and turns a comin’, audience members might even be pulled on stage.

Blogologues will take place at Union Hall at 7:30 p.m. For more information and tickets, click here.  Blogologues will also perform at The Peoples Improv Theater on March 4 at 8 p.m.
