Wouldn’t it be fun, while visiting New York City, to have a picnic just like a local? Several restaurants around town offer picnic lunches and dinner for customers during the summer months for just that reason, the newest among them being Two Forks, a casual eatery near Midtown’s Bryant Park. Every Friday, for just $15, you can choose from one of the shop’s signature bowls such as Squash Goals (pulled spaghetti squash, tzatziki sauce, buternut squash, carrots, apples, cranberry and goat cheese slaw); Tipsy Chicken (chicken, spicy oz sauce, corn, tequila lime slaw) and other savory options. The meal includes a Spindrift drink (sparkling water made with real fruit), a baked good (gluten-free options, from brownies to carrot cake) and an apple. Take it across the street to the park, where you can see a film, take a dance class, watch an opera and more. Or—just munch on your bowl, then lie down in the grass and chill.
