Trailer Park Lounge & Grill Gives a Shout Out to Kitschy Americana

This past Thursday, a friend and I made impromptu plans to meet up for a drink. Knowing we would probably miss any happy hour specials, our only prerequisites when finding a decent watering hole were: 1.) it had to be in Chelsea and 2.) it had to be relatively cheap. With a few well-concentrated Google searches, I foundTrailer Park Lounge & Grill—a kitschy-but-cute bar in Chelsea. The décor is a collection of tacky novelties that give a comical shout out to the gaudier side of Americana décor (think flashy streamers hanging from the ceiling, mannequins in hair curlers and things along that line). Although we missed happy hour, the drink prices are pretty reasonable for the trendy area—a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon will set you back $5 while a small margarita is $8. We didn’t eat, but I can’t wait to head back and try some of the spot’s artery-clogging specialties, including the homemade chili. For more information, click here.
