Tormaresca Wines and Delectable Cuisine at Lincoln Ristorante

This past week, I enjoyed lunch with a number of Tormaresca wine pairings at Lincoln Ristorante, the spacious Italian eatery at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts that boasts expansive views of the surrounding complex. Tormaresca is a winemaker with two vineyards in southern Italy’s Puglia—specifically Bocca di Lupo, in Murgia, in northern Puglia; and Masseria Maime, in the heart of the Salento peninsula—and the regions drier climate and rocky volcanic soil lends itself to a variety of robust reds and crisp whites. I enjoyed several dishes from the Lincoln Ristorante menu, which paired beautifully with Tormaresca’s offerings, including: Burrata (creamy mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, summer melon, arugula and mint salsa verde), paired with 2013 Roycello Salento IGT; Spaghetti Al Pomodoro (with pommarola, cherry tomatoes, lemon and ricotta salata) paired with 2012 Neprica Puglia IGT and 2012 Torcicoda Salento; and Cotoletta Di Maiale alla Griglia (grilled heritage pork chop, Cayuga pure, organic polenta, rapini and pepperonata), paired with the 2011 Trentangeli Castel del Monte DOC, 2007 Bocca di Lupo Castel del Monte DOC and 2006 Masseria Maime Salento IGT.

All Tormaresca wines are crafted with 100% estate-grown fruit and many of the wines use grapes native to the region. You don’t have to leave the house to enjoy Tormaresca’s extensive list of wines, as many are sold at area retailers, including Sherry-Lehmann Wine & Spirits, K & D Wines, and Garnet Wines & Liquors.
