Tasty Bites From Sugar and Plumm

Tasty Bites From Sugar and Plumm

Have you ever gone to an event and were so blown away by the catering that you can’t wait to partake in the “full size” version of the eatery’s delectable fare? Well, that happened to me not too long ago when I went to an event at The Frye Company in SoHo. While shopping shoes and accessories in the sprawling SoHo space, guests were able to nosh on bite-size hors d'oeuvres from Sugar and Plumm, a boutique bistro with locations on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and West Village. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant’s use of unique flavor combinations (think beets with goat cheese and blue cheese with cherries). The standout item, however, had to be the assortment of yummy macaroons passed around the event. With a little research, I can’t wait to try the Pulled Pork and Waffles (two Belgian waffles with house smoked 72-hour pulled pork smothered in maple barbecue sauce and topped with homemade slaw and sliced jalapeños), a popular dish at the Upper West Side location; or the ebelskeiver—essentially Danish pancake balls in both sweet and savory combinations, which are a fave downtown. Of course, customers rave about the macaroons at both locations, with the salted caramel as a must-have flavor. For more on Sugar and Plumm, click here.
