I’ve never been very interested in sushi, but after a recent visit to Midtown’s Bamboo 52, I’ve changed my mind. I tried cucumber avocado, salmon and spicy tuna rolls, which we were able to watch the sushi chefs prepare in the restaurant’s open kitchen. All of the varieties I tried were delicious and even better when dipped in soy sauce. The restaurant also has a full bar with an extensive cocktail menu. I tried the Ginger Blossom, a fruity concoction with gin, St. Germaine, grapefruit and strawberry. Bamboo 52 is a lounge-like space with modern art and lighting that perfectly contrast with the exposed brick walls. For more information or the menu, check out bamboo52nyc.com.
