Growing up, barbecue was always one of my favorite types of cuisine, so when I moved to New York City, I was pleasantly surprised to find a great bbq spot within my first few weeks of being in this metropolis. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a lively rib joint a short walk from the 125th Street 1 train stop in Harlem. The large establishment is the perfect place to go for a number of barbecue specialties, including pulled pork, brisket and, of course, St. Louis cut pork ribs. While there, I highly recommend you also try the fried green tomatoes—complete with a sprinkling of Pecorino Romano cheese and served with a cayenne buttermilk ranch dressing. You can check out the complete menu here. You can also find locations in Syracuse, Rochester and Troy, N.Y.; as well as Newark, N.J. and Stamford, C.T.
