Reinventing the Rugelach at Petite Shell

Reinventing the Rugelach at Petite Shell

Fans of rugelach and a mean cup of joe can get their fix of both when Petite Shell opens on the Upper East Side January 14. The brainchild of Brooklyn entrepreneur Shmilly Gruenstein—who grew up eating the sweet treat, lovingly referred to as “petite shells,” paired with coffee—the café will serve a selection of both sweet and savory versions of the pastry, including 100% pure Piemonte Nutella; White Chocolate Granny Smith Apple; Bleu Cheese Pear; Feta Kalamata Olives; Farmer’s Cheese Raspberry and Barriloche’s Dulce de Leche. Folks can wash down the carefully curated selections with Petite Shell's coffee, roasted exclusively by Ithaca, New York-based Forty Weight Coffee Rosters, including iced coffee on tap.
